The categories for Ireland's eGovernment Awards run in association with eircom have now been announced. As with previous years, each entry will be marked according to specific evaluation criteria by an independent panel of judges. The categories include:

- e Ireland's Central eGovernment Award
- e Ireland's Local eGovernment Award
- e Ireland's State Body eGovernment Award
- e Ireland's Cross Agency eGovernment Award
- e Ireland's Accessible eGovernment Award
- e Ireland's Education eGovernment Award
- e Ireland's Irish Language eGovernment Award
- e Ireland's Project Management eGovernment Award
- e Ireland's Marketing eGovernment Award
- e Ireland's People's Choice eGovernment Award
Ireland's Overall eGovernment Award
The overall winner of the Ireland’s eGovernment Awards is chosen from the entrants to all nine categories. The winner must demonstrate outstanding commitment and innovation in its approach to utilising ICT to implement exceptional eGovernment services in Ireland.
Ireland's Central eGovernment Award 
The Central eGovernment Award is awarded to the ICT initiative that has succeeded in clearly delivering better services, information and efficiencies to its customers and those who work within the organisation.
Key factors include enhanced customer service, access to information, improved processes, an increase in efficiencies or resource savings, and simplicity or ease of use and innovation.
Ireland's Local eGovernment Award
The Local eGovernment Award is awarded to the local authority who has succeeded in harnessing ICT to deliver better services, information and efficiencies to its target audience (both internal and external).
Key factors include innovation, enhanced customer service, an increase in efficiencies, access to local information or resource savings, simplicity or ease of use and problem solving.
Ireland's State Body eGovernment Award
The State Body eGovernment Award is awarded to the state body who has succeeded in harnessing ICT to deliver better services, information and efficiencies to its target audience (both internal and external).
Key factors include innovation, enhanced customer service, an increase in efficiencies, access to local information or resource savings, simplicity or ease of use and problem solving.
ireland's Accessibility eGovernment Award
The eGovernment Award for best website to respond to and provide for persons with disability is awarded to the site or online service that has succeeded in clearly enhancing online access for those with disability.
Key factors include improved access to resources and information for those with disability in accordance with government guidelines
Ireland's Education eGovernment Award
The Education eGovernment Award was awarded to the organisation who has succeeded in harnessing ICT to deliver better services, information and efficiencies to its target audience (both internal and external).
Key factors included innovation, enhanced customer service, an increase in efficiencies, access to local information or resource savings, simplicity or ease of use and problem solving.
Ireland's Best Irish eGovernment Award
The Irish Language eGovernment Award is for the best website to respond to and provide for persons who wish to access services through Irish.
Ireland's eGovernment Project Mangement Award
The Project Management eGovernment Award is awarded to the project manager who has demonstrated outstanding skills in the management and delivery of an ICT project and met the objectives set out for that project.
Key factors include innovative thinking, project definition, scoping, resource management and customer satisfaction.
Ireland's Marketing eGovernment Award
The Marketing eGovernment Award is awarded to the organisation that illustrates excellence in the marketing of ICT based services.
Key factors include use of marketing techniques, promotion and positioning of eGovernment services and how effectively marketing objectives were met.
Award: Ireland's eGovernment People's Choice
The People’s Choice Award was introduced in 2009 and is awarded to the best eGovernment site voted by the public. Click here to nominate a site.
